Academy Usui Reiki Ryoho
WHAT DOES REIKI MEAN
The original Japanese name of the method is Usui Reiki Ryoho, which means
'Usui Reiki Ryoho Method of Universal Vital Energy.
Reiki Ryoho
The word Reiki is Japanese and consists of two Japanese ideograms (kanji) Rei and Ki.
Rei 靈
Rei means spirit.
Ki 氣
Ki means air, steam, in Japanese and is interpreted as energy.
The word Ryoho means method of treatment or healing art and consists of two Japanese ideograms Ryo and Ho.
Ryo 療
Ryo means healing, cure, treatment
Ho 法
Ho means method, system, technique
Mikao Usui
Dr. Mikao Usui was a wise spiritual teacher and founder of the Reiki method, born and lived in Japan from 1865 to 1926.
Within a few years, he taught the method to over two thousand people and trained several Reiki masters who continued to spread the method after his death.
Reiki was brought to the West by the Hawayo Takata in 1937 in Hawaii. Mrs Takata received Reiki teacher training from Hayashi Chujiro, a student of the founder Usui Mikao.
Traininig 1st Degree
The two-day training program includes:
- Coordination with the Reiki energy individually to each trainee.
- Theoretical knowledge about the origin and function of Reiki.
- Meditation
- Reiki application techniques
- Reiki technique for self-healing
- Japanese techniques
- Reiki practice
Upon completion of the training, the following are provided:
- Usui Reiki 1st degree certificate
- Reiki 1st degree training Manual
- Music for Reiki Session

No previous knowledge, experience or session is necessary.

2nd Degree Training
The 2nd Degree Usui Reiki training includes:
- 2nd Degree Reiki attunement individually for each trainee

- Techniques for using the symbols
- Distance Reiki teaching technique

- Situation Healing Technique
- Energy Cleansing Technique
- Japanese Reiki Techniques
- Practice in the use of symbols
Upon completion of the training, the following are provided:
- Usui Reiki 2nd Degree Certificate
- 2nd Degree Reiki Training Manual

3rd & 4th Degree Training
The Usui Reiki Master and Usui Reiki Teacher training corresponds to the 3rd and 4th degree and is intended for those who have completed the training and practice of the 1st and 2nd degree Usui Reiki and wish to further deepen their spiritual development, as well as to support others, either by working as practitioners or by offering Reiki teachings to family, friends, or a wider audience.
Upon completion of the training, the following are provided:
- Usui Reiki Master Teacher Certificate
- Usui Reiki Teachers Lineage
- Reiki Master Teacher Manual & Japanese Techniques
Participation Requirements:
- Usui Reiki 1st & 2nd degree training with certificates
- Six months after the 2nd degree Reiki
- Practice in applying Reiki treatment to self
- Practice in applying Reiki to others
- Distance Reiki practice
- Practice in the use of symbols
- Systematic meditation practice
Training Program:
- Two days from 10:00–16:00
- Break offered for tea and a vegetarian organic meal.

UPDATE ON REIKI
Hospitals
In many hospitals abroad, in America, England, Germany and Spain, Reiki treatment is used for cancer patients to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, in the treatment of many serious illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, and after surgery to support faster recovery.
Reiki does not replace medicine
Reiki is a gentle energy method that does not replace the careful and appropriate use of competent conventional medical care and psychological support. Reiki works in harmony and in parallel with all medical treatment, medication and psychological therapy, and supports recovery, rehabilitation and improvement of health. Reiki practitioners do not make diagnoses and do not recommend medications or other substances. Reiki is a simple, natural energy method that creates positive conditions for a healthy body and mind.
Reiki is not a religion
Reiki has no dogma and no ritual worship. There is nothing that must be believed in to use Reiki. Reiki works regardless of belief. That is why people all over the world practice Reiki, regardless of their religion, race, education or social status. Reiki is a spiritual method that brings people together around the world.
